Has Mark Cuban put together a championship contending team? If he hasn't yet, he sure is trying his hardest to do so.
Cuban has brought in some good players to go along with Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion and Vince Carter.
Cuban has managed to land Monta Ellis, Jose Calderon, Devin Harris, Brandon Wright, and two bigs in Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair, who is coming from the San Antonio Spurs. Rookie Shane Larkin, along with Rodrique Beaubois should add some speed to this team.
If Devin Harris comes back one hundred percent after his foot surgery, he too should add some additional speed and also be a nice scoring threat for the Mavericks. Monta Ellis should be a great scoring piece too, if he can get his scoring firepower back which he did not have with the Milwaukee Bucks last season. Jose Calderon can score on the outside as well as inside when he drives to the basket. Shawn Marion and Vince Carter should still be able to continue to post up and drive to the basket as well.
Needing some big guys to guard the paint, Cuban did a great job in getting Samuel Dalembert and DeJuan Blair for this job. This should make Dirk Nowitzki a continuous threat of shooting his fade away short jumpers and his almost unstoppable three point shooting.
Mark Cuban is probably not done seeking to get some additional caliber players. One thing for sure, he is going to keep wheeling and dealing until he's satisfied with a championship contending team.
