We don't need the 4th of July to celebrate our freedom. As an American, every day above ground should be cause for celebration: we live in the "Land of the Free," don't we?

America has changed dramatically from the country our parents knew. One could argue we're not really free at all.
The following 12 random facts show just how much America's concept of "freedom" has changed. We start in Reno, Nevada, where car owners no longer can be trusted to put air in their own tires. Seriously.
#12) Nevada legislators are drafting a bill that requires vehicle service centers, smog inspection stations and quick lube shops to check the inflation pressure of their customers’ vehicles, because
drivers can't be trusted to inflate their own tires. (Think that's ludicrous? California already has such a law. Your state lawmakers may be next in line to legislate common sense.)
#11) Speaking of Cali, Governor Schwarzenegger decided to slash most state workers' pay to minimum wage ($7.25/hr) for the month of July. Surprise!
#10) Oklahoma police tasered a disabled grandma in her bed and stepped on her oxygen hose until she couldn't breathe because they considered her "a threat."
#9) A 6-year-old girl from Ohio is on the "no fly" list maintained by U.S. Homeland Security.
#8) School officials in a Massachusetts town refused to allow students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
#7) When two Christians peacefully passed out copies of the Gospel of John on a public sidewalk outside a public Arab festival in Dearborn, Michigan, 8 policemen surrounded them in less than 3 minutes and placed them under arrest.
#6) Scientists at Columbia University warn that the dose of radiation from full body security scanners going into all U.S. airports could be 20 times higher than estimated.
#5) Three California high school students were forced to remove their American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo. One of the students was a Mexican-American who wanted to show support for his native country, America.
#4) A 6-year-old girl was handcuffed and sent to a mental facility after throwing temper tantrums at school.
#3) In Florida, students have been arrested by police for bringing a plastic butter knife to school, throwing an eraser and drawing a picture of a gun.
#2) Federal border agents report that Mexican drug cartels have not only set up shop on American soil, they are maintaining lookout bases in the hillsides of southern Arizona. (They admit this, yet they will not enforce federal immigration law and intend to sue Arizona for trying to do what the Feds won't.)
#1) Since 1973, more than 50 million babies have been murdered in abortion facilities across the United States. America's women may be "free to choose abortion," but the unborn victims and their fathers are not "free to choose life."
