What are the ARDY Awards? Are they like the ESPY Awards, the Grammy Awards or the Oscars? Have you ever heard of the ARDY’s? If you are a part of the Resort & Hospitality industry, then you have!
These prestigious awards are given to individuals, teams or resorts that have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in the vacation ownership industry. Given each year by the American Resort Development Association, known in the industry as ARDA, these achievement awards signify remarkable service and dedication to the profession.
Much like the Oscar’s… nominations for an ARDY Award are submitted by industry peers and selected by a panel of award judges. ARDY Award panelist must have a minimum of eight years of experience in their field to participate. Competition is tough, with over 400 submissions it is an honor to be a finalist and a real achievement to be a winner!
This year Tapestry Resorts is proud to announce that they had two employees who earned Silver ARDY Awards: General Manager Janeth Olacea of Park Plaza in Park City Utah and Front Desk Agent Jennifer Laboy of Club Cala Resort in Boquerón Puerto Rico.
John Small, chairman of Tapestry Resorts, said “Olachea and Laboy consistently demonstrate a dedication, initiative and leadership that go beyond their job duties, plus an impeccable level of customer service.”
In a world and time that does not always see or recognize such dedication to excellence; Kudos to Janeth and Jennifer for making a difference in their chosen professions!
An ARDA Award is a coveted honor for industry professionals and is given in a variety of categories, at ARDA’s annual Awards Gala. For a complete list of 2010 ARDY’s finalists and winners, visit the ARDA website at www.ARDA.org/awards.
