On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS) celebrated its 15 year
anniversary with a cocktail party hosted by philanthropist Arden Wohl and Diana Taylor at Gilded Lily in Chelsea, New York.
Arden Wohl & Diana Taylor joined by Michelle Trachtenberg, Cory Kennedy, Stacy Bendet, Karen Erickson, Daria Strokous, Zani Gugelmann, and Rachel Lloyd.
The evening soirée featured guest DJ
Michelle Trachtenberg and included cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction to
raise funds and awareness for the life-changing organization. Examiner.com was in attendance and had the opportunity to see the passion, hard-work, and love that is still present 15 years later. “I am so happy to be here, and really thrilled to see all of our work and dreams come true. We wanted to give girls a future, give them hope to dream again as well as protecting them. It is my desire to put myself out of business one day, but I am thankful for the many lives that I have been able to touch as well as the relationships that I've built as a result. I wouldn't be here without the generous supporters and donors and on behalf of our girls, I thank all of them sincerely. GEMS is thrilled to be celebrating our anniversary, and we look forward to the next 15 years,” says GEMS Founder Rachel Lloyd.
