As the arctic cold front continues to drop south this morning, scattered snow showers will remain a threat through the day with the potential for a dusting to an inch in a few isolated locations. Otherwise, scattered cloud cover can be expected with winds from the north and northwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will struggle in the upper 20's over the interior and lower to mid 30's along the coast. Wind chills will be in the teens and 20's through the day.
The arctic cold front will lift north by tomorrow morning and remain north of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas through Sunday afternoon. Winds will be from the west at 5 to 10 mph with temperatures near normal through the weekend. Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 10's to mid 20's for lows and upper 30's to mid 40's for highs. Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and lower to mid 40's for highs.
A powerful arctic air mass will invade and remain in place Sunday night on through Thursday with temperatures averaging well below normal. The arctic cold front will produce the potential for a few snow showers on Sunday night. Another area of low pressure will bring the threat for scattered snow showers, potentially even a period of steady snow, on Tuesday morning as well. Scattered showers will remain a threat for Wednesday and Thursday as well. Low temperatures will range from the lower to mid 10's over the interior and upper 10's to lower 20's along the coast. High temperatures will range from the lower to mid 20's over the interior and upper 20's to lower 30's along the coast.
