Archstone Distribution has acquired the worldwide rights for the newest film from “Midnight Meat Train” director Anthony DiBlasi. According to a Sept. 12 press release email, “Cassadaga” will release to limited theaters and VOD on Oct. 11.
This is the second time that Archstone has worked with Starz Digital Media. Earlier this year, the two teamed up for the release of “A Resurrection,” which was the last major film for Michael Clarke Duncan.
“Cassadaga” is filled with twists and turns that will keep audiences at the edge of their seats,” he said. “Horror fans will appreciate this movie, and it will surely build a following.”
The film stars Kelen Coleman (TV’s “The Mindy Project”) and Kevin Alejandro (HBO’s “True Blood”). Below is the synopsis, courtesy of Archstone Distribution:
“‘Cassadaga’ tells the story of Lily Morel (Coleman), a post-lingually deaf artist, who participates in a séance in the spiritualist community of Cassadaga. But instead of getting closure with her recently departed sister, Lily contacts the vengeful ghost of a murdered woman. As the ghost becomes increasingly angry and violent, Lily rushes to unravel the mysterious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death – a task that will bring her face-to-face with a sadistic serial killer who turns his victims into human marionette dolls.”
