Archie Powell and the Exports at Subterranean May 2

Chicago based Archie Powell and the Exports are on a roll. They played SXSW last month and were named in NPR's Austin 100. There's a new video for a single, "Hole" (see video on this page.) A new album, "Back in Black" arrives online and in stores April 28, and you can advance order it here. Then there's a record release show at Subterranean on May 2.

They have been getting press all over the internet, on NPR, Billboard, Esquire, Consequence of Sound, Fearless Radio, Illinois Entertainer, and Gapers Block.

I got an advance copy of the new album and it sounds great. From the catchy "Everything's F*cked" to the Beatle-like intro in "Everything's Cool," it's a solid record. There's some grungy crunch in "Lean" and "Mambo #9" flat out rocks. The more I listen to this record, the more I like it. I think you will like it too.
