Archaeological walking tours of Ft. Lowell and Hohokham Hardy Site in March 2014

Every Friday in March 2014, the Ft. Lowell Museum will be offering walking tours as part of celebrating Archaeology Month. The walking tours will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1 :30 p.m. The walking tour is included with the museum's regular admission fee. The tours begin at the museum.

The archaeological walking tours will include visiting the Hardy Village site, which is a Hohokham native American site that dates to their living in the area from 300 C.E. to 1300 C.E. The tour also includes visiting the 1880s fort ruins. There is also opportunities to hold 1,000 year old artifacts as part of the tour.

About Arizona Historical Society's Fort Lowell Museum: This museum is focuses on frontier military life and is housed in the reconstructed Commanding Officer's Quarters of Old Fort Lowell. Normal hours are Friday and Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Admission is usually $3 for adults, $2 for ages 60 and up and ages 12 to 18, and free for ages 11 and under as well as Arizona Historical Society Members.
