Arcade Fire have increased the sizzle of their upcoming second North American tour leg with the addition of special guests Devo and Television. The "Whip It" hitmakers along with the pioneering punk rockers led by Richard Hell will open on select Reflektor Tour dates.
According to an article posted July 21 at Billboard.com, the Grammy and Juno-winning Canuck indie-rockers will feature Devo at their North American tour opener July 30 at Mountain View, California, at Shoreline Amphitheatre, as well as on Aug. 26-27 at Chicago's United Center. Television will be a featured guest at their show on Aug. 24 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Other supporting acts include indie electronic artist Dan Deacon, Spoon, Antibalas, the Unicorns , Tune-Yards, Owen Pallett, Constantines, Fraka and Pulp bassist Steve Mackey, performing DJ sets. See below for the full Reflektor Tour schedule and guest artist information.
Arcade Fire were announced last week among the elite group of Canadian artists short-listed for the 2014 Polaris Music Prize. This is the third time the Montreal-based band have been short-listed for the prestigious award, which they won previously in 2011 for their 2010 studio album The Suburbs.
Win Butler and company wound up their 2014 European tour leg in style, headlining on July 3 at London's Hyde Park. They performed as the opening day headliner at London's annual Barclaycard presents British Summer Time festival, held at the city's historic Hyde Park.
