Earlier today, Brooklyn Vegan announced that two posters were found hinting that the Canadian Indie rockers, Arcade Fire, might be playing two pop-up shows in Brooklyn on October 18 and 19. Today, the shows have reportedly been confirmed by the band's management to Arcade Fire Tube.
A venue has not been announced yet but costumes or formal dress will be required for entry. The whole setup is very similar to the secret show the band played last month at a salsa bar in Montreal. They've been generating a lot of buzz around the internet lately for their unorthodox viral campaigns and controversial grassroots efforts to promote their new album "Reflektor." The Broooklyn-based DJ/producer James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem), produced the record which is set for an October 29 release.
The band's recent long-form music video "Here's to the Night" aired on NBC just after SNL last month. Another album teaser entitled, "Awful Sound" was just released October 12 via Vimeo to promote the album.
The shows just happen to fall amidst the CMJ music marathon; which is arguably the biggest music festival held in New York City. Brooklyn, keep your eyes peeled for a venue and more information.
