Arcade Fire leads pack with three Woodie Awards nominations

Arcade Fire nabbed three nominatons to lead the field at the 2014 mtvU Woodie Awards.

According to a news release posted Feb. 12 at MTV.com, the Montreal-based indie-rockers picked up nominations in the new Woody category of "Did It My Way" (innovation), as well as for Best Video and Performing.

Runner-ups include: Drake, Pharrell, Jay Z, Imagine Dragons, Daft Punk, Lorde, Chance the Rapper, the 1975, Disclosure, Bastille, and A$AP Rocky, who snared two apiece.

The 10th annual Woodies, which celebrates music embraced by college students, will take place March 13 in Austin Texas during South By Southwest Music Festival and air March 16.

Fans can vote in categories such as Breaking Woodie for best new artist at the awards show’s website.

Arcade Fire will he among the high profile musical guests appearing during Jimmy Fallon's debut week as host of "The Tonight Show.," performing on Thursday, Feb. 19.

Their massive 2014 Reflektor World Tour kicks off March 6 in Louisville, Ky. at KFC Yum! Center.

The Canadian leg begins on March 13 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre and winds up on Aug. 30 in Montreal, QC at Parc Jean Drapeau.

Did you know? Arcade Fire nabbed a field leading six nominatons at the 2014 Juno Awards, which will be held March 30 in Winnipeg, MB at MTS Centre.
