Arcade Fire has officially confirmed they will perform a headlining slot at Glastonbury Festival in 2014.
According to an update posted Dec. 19 at the band's official Facebook page, the Canuck indie rockers will perform at the world famous U.K. music festival on Fri., June 27.
The Grammy winning Montreal natives released the news to fans by posting a picture online written in chalk on a piece of material draped on a sofa, featuring four show dates in June 2014, which included the prestigious Glastonbury gig.
Glastonbury has confirmed the multi-Juno Award winners as the first announced headliner of the festival in a news release posted today at GlastonburyFestival.co.uk, writing, "We're very pleased to announce that Arcade Fire will headline the Pyramid Stage on the Friday at Glastonbury 2014."
The festival takes place June 25 - 29 in Pilton, UK.
Touring in support of their massively successful "Reflektor" studio album, Win Butler and company have also scheduled a Canadian leg, which kicks off on March 13 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre and winds up on Aug. 30 in Montreal, QC at Parc Jean Drapeau.
