Arbor Colossus is one of the newest "Theros" spoilers revealed today Sept. 5, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert "Magic: The Gathering" expansion set in an article by Kevin Ohannessian on MTV Geek. Arbor Colossus is a powerful rare green creature that can potentially be a two for one or more.
Arbor Colossus - 2GGG
Creature - Giant (Rare)
3GGG: Monstrosity 3. (If this creature isn't monstrous, put three +1/+1 counters on it and it becomes monstrous.)
When Arbor Colossus becomes monstrous, destroy target creature with flying an opponent controls.
Arbor Colossus is a 6/6 for six that can stop almost all the relevant creatures with flying in standard: Stormbreath Dragon, Sigarda, Host of Herons, Angel of Serenity, Aurelia, the Warleader, and Isperia Supreme Judge.
Because Arbor Colossus has three green in its mana cost, it'll significantly boost your devotion cards. Consider this line of play: A first turn Elvish Mystic, second turn Sylvan Caryatid , third turn Arbor Colossus. Alternatively, you can drop Nylea, God of the Hunt third turn then Arbor Colossus on forth turn transforming Nylea, God of the Hunt into a creature.
Reaching the monstrosity of Arbor Colossus isn't very far fetched, it's just one more mana than its mana cost and transforms it into a massive 9/9 creature that may be able to destroy one of your opponent's threats. All that's missing is trample (Will Bow of Nylea prove true?).
Arbor Colossus will be a complete bomb in "Theros" limited and certainly make an appearance or two in constructed.
How will you use Arbor Colossus?
