Arapahoe Basin ski resort welcomes the New Belgium Brewing Scavenge Tour

New Belgium announced their Brewing’s Scavenge tour is coming to Arapahoe Basin Ski and Snowboard Area Thursday Jan. 23, 2014. This first time event happens February 15, 2014 and includes a plethora of fun and frantic events for skiers and boarders in Colorado.

During this all-day adventure skiers and snowboarders sport eccentric costumes, chase chickens, search for Bigfoot and answer ridiculous riddles, all while enjoying the fresh air and raising money. This is New Belgium’s eighth year to put on slope-side scavenger hunts, which benefit local nonprofits. At A-Basin the beneficiary is High Country Conservation Center, an organization that strives to develop practical solutions for resource conservation and waste reduction in Summit County Colorado.

Throughout the day, which is part of the “Save Our Snow” celebration, participants will search the mountain slopes at Arapahoe Basin for moving and stationary clues that focus on New Belgium beer and culture, sustainability, Arapahoe Basin and High Country Conservation Center. Questions vary from easy to difficult and the team with the most points at the end of the day wins.

Teams can have one to four people and costs only $10 per person in addition to the cost of a lift ticket. You can create your own group, or find someone in line to team up with. Costumes get extra points, so don’t forget to add a little sparkle and flare to your winter ski gear.

The finale grants participants access to New Belgium's new beer, Snapshot Wheat. Scavenge participants can enter into a raffle for a chance to win a custom pair of Rocky Mountain Underground skis, A-Basin lift tickets and season passes, as well as prizes from Clifbar, Albritton Skis and Leave no Trace.
