Arango Cigar Co., the exclusive distributor of Torino affordably-priced briar pipes, is reintroducing the popular line now being manufactured in the family-owned Lorenzetti factory in Mecata, Italy.
According to Michael Gold, Arango’s president, “We chose the Lorenzetti family to recreate our Torino pipes based on their penchant for craftsmanship, briar options, and pricing. We and our customers have not been disappointed ...Torino exemplifies excellent value.”
Torino pipes come in several standard shapes, offered in three finishes. All are priced to appeal to entry-level smokers as well as savvy seasoned buyers. Their Sandblast Black line with Vulcanite stems has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $36. Simpatico Smooth Burgundy also has black Vulcanite mouthpieces and retails for $52. Premier Smooth Brown, with its clear Lucite® stem, sells for $60.
Master carver Otello Lorenzetti founded the company in 1934 with a vision of creating world-class pipes, using his native Italian briar. The factory remains headquartered in the Lorenzetti family’s original home.
Arango also distributes Lorenzetti-crafted, moderately-priced Wessex brand Italian briar pipes. Wessex pipes come in three lines ... Brigade, Standard and the new Bristol. They are offered in a variety of shapes, bits and finishes, some fitted with silver shank bands. All Torino and Wessex pipes are currently available at tobacco retailers nationwide in time for holiday shopping.
