ARAMARK hits it out of the park in the ATL

Everyone loves going out to the ballpark, just as the song about this American tradition implies. Even those who are not sports fans love going to see the Braves - especially when they're on a winning streak.  Atlanta after all isn't Chicago, which is possibly the greatest sports town in the country. Atlanta's fickle sports fans likely place our genteel city in the bottom five of all sports fans towns. This is something we should all be a little embarrassed about.

However, at least the gluten-free crowd in the ATL has a great new reason to go out and support the Braves. According to an ARAMARK representative at Turner Field, starting today (June 25th) Redbridge gluten-free beer will be sold at Tomahawk Taverns on the Field and Terrace levels at Turner Field.

Redbridge is also available on request at both The 755 Club and in the corporate suites. So if you're gluten-free and a business acquaintance from AT&T (or Fedex or any company with a corporate suite) invites you to a game, you too can enjoy a Redbridge beer! Don't worry that it's not printed on the menu - it's available - ask and you shall receive.

Stay tuned about what food options are gluten-free at Turner Field. At last check (2008) it was peanuts, Minute Maid lemon ice, some candy and popcorn. The public restaurant offered a salad with no dressing and our server suggested we avoid everything else on the menu. It was nice that she knew exactly what gluten was. Details will be posted here when the current gluten-free food offerings are confirmed. The ARAMARK team at turner Field is working on accommodating guests who can't partake in traditional ballpark fare, as their goal is to give every guest a truly enjoyable experience. The reason they brought Redbridge beer into The 755 Club is the best example of that fact. Someone asked for it.

In addition to servicing Turner Field concessions, ARAMARK is a world leader in providing professional services, and was recently ranked No. 1 in it's industry on FORTUNE magazine’s list of “World’s Most Admired Companies” (a list formerly known as “America’s Most Admired Companies”) for 2009. This is the second consecutive year ARAMARK had been ranked No. 1 in their industry.

Hopefully the gluten-free set will support the efforts of ARAMARK and Turner Field. This particular Braves fan will go back to the ballpark and enjoy a gluten-free beer for the first time in over three years. It's a very good day in Atlanta, indeed. Special thanks to ARAMARK for making it easier for our community to support the home town team.  To gluten-free fans and the rest of you Atlantans - please get out to the ballpark soon. Hopefully this weekend the Braves will Tomahawk chop the Yankees right back to NYC!
