Aqib Talib has decided to return to the Patriots. It has been confirmed that Talib signed a one-year, $5 million deal to remain with the Patriots.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, there were two other offers on the table that included multi-year options that came close to being signed. In the end, Talib decided to make it a short-tern deal then hit the market again in 2014.
This is a victory for the Patriots. As they look to the draft and free agency to help with a defense that definately needs help, keeping Talib is a mojor plus for them.
Also in the running for Talib were the Redskins but Talib was always believed to have wanted to stick with the Patriots if they could get on the same page, contract-wise.
By re-signing Talib, the Patriots are bringing both of their cornerbacks for the 2013 season. On Friday, the Patriots re-signed Kyle Arrington to a four-year contract and agreed to terms with veteran safety Adrian Wilson, a 33-year-old former Pro Bowler with the Arizona Cardinals who is best utilized near the line of scrimmage.
