This is a rewind of season one, episode five called, “Ditch Monkey” which aired on Feb. 22, 2011. It opened with Tim who is walking on a gravel road. His uncle Phil was recently arrested for suspicion of abusing him sexually. Leona shows Stew the video interview of Natalie before she died of a drug overdose. He is investigating her rape & suspects Phil was her rapist.
Gail is laying in the hospital & awakes throwing up all over the floor. She starts to have the “shakes” because her body craves alcohol. Natalie comes to her again in a vision & Gail gets angry with her. Tim tells Leona & Stew that his aunt blames him for Phil's abuse & even she beats him up.
Cecil visits Gail at the hospital. He is an elder who is the center of calm & goodness. She is back to herself & begins to laugh again. The doctor tells Gail that she is now a diabetic & has abused her kidney's beyond repair. Those kidney's will fail if she continues to drink alcohol. The social service worker hands Tim over to Leona's care who doesn't want him taken off the Reserve. He is now a witness in a felony case against his uncle Phil.
Andy is a racist who doesn't want this white substitute teacher asking questions. She is the one who told Leona about Tim's abuse. Phil is also Andy's cousin. He's fighting desperately to get back as band chief & wants the council members to vote out Leona as chief.
Tim confesses to Leona that everyone is mad at him for accusing his uncle of sexual abuse. The Blackstone community is denying that there is child sex abuse. They want to push it under the rug like it never happens on the Reserve.
Why does Andy want his father's money whom he hasn't seen in years? How far did Phil's abuse go on the Reserve? How many witnesses will testify against Phil? Can Leona deal with everything as band Chief? You can watch “Ditch Monkey” over at Hulu.
