On Tuesday, February 5th, WEIQ-TV in Mobile and other stations in the Alabama Public Television (APT) network were unable to broadcast the first 24 minutes of "The Pioneers of Television" ("Miniseries") due to APT providing them special live programming that included the "State of the State" address delivered by Robert Bentley, the governor of Alabama, and a response to the speech by Tammy Irons, a member of the Alabama Senate. When APT started providing "The Pioneers of Television" to the stations (by 7:25 p.m.), a superimposed message scrolled across the program letting TV viewers know that APT had rejoined their regularly-scheduled programming all ready in progress.
In spite of the "State of the State" programming lasting longer than originally expected by APT, according to the schedule for their main programming service, they still had plans to televise the newest edition of "The Pioneers of Television" several more times in February through their main programming service and through their APT WORLD programming service for the digital sub-channels in their TV network (WEIQ-TV's sub-channel for APT WORLD programming was radio frequency channel 41-2/virtual channel 42-2). Before those presentations were to take place, video of the entire edition was uploaded onto the official World Wide Web site for the program for Internet users to access at any time.
