The Forney Police Department and the Forney Fire Department released their 2013 statistics for January through April on May 28, 2013. FFD showed a significant drop in calls for the month of April, while FPD also showed a reduction in the number of calls they responded to in April.

Forney Fire Department

FFD responded to 214 calls in April 2013. In March they dealt with 294 calls, in February they responded to 232 calls, and in January they had 310 calls for service. Many of the calls were medical related or traffic accident related. They received 90 less calls for service in April 2013 than they did in April 2012.

Forney Police Department

FPD averaged 47 calls a day in April and they responded to a total of 1417 calls for service. This was the lowest number of CFS this year for the department. In March they had 1612, in February they went to 1669 calls, and in January they responded to a yearly high of 1734 calls.

The number of traffic accidents in the City limits dropped from 64 in March to just 43 in April. Of those, 25 were considered major accidents, though there were no fatalities. FPD officers issued 106 traffic citations in April. February was the high month for traffic citations with 278 tickets issued that month.

10 felony arrests were made in April and 80 misdemeanor arrests were made. Assaults were up slightly from 9 in March to 13 in April. Burglaries dropped from 21 in March to just 11 in April.

Municipal Court

The Muni Court recorded 74 paid traffic fines in April, and another 14 traffic cases that went before a judge. Total fees and fines paid to the Muni Court for warrants, traffic citations, and parking citations totaled $28, 296.86 in April.
