It is said that "April showers bring May flowers." April showers also bring rain puddles that are fun for children to play in and around. Create a fun "rain puddle" environment indoors by placing plastic place mats (or small rug sample squares) on the floor in a random/scattered pattern to represent rain puddles. Have the children travel over the puddles in creative ways: forward, sideways, backwards, around; jump, hop, step, leap, etc. "Puddles" can be placed to form different types of pathways such as: curved, circular, straight, spiral, jig jag, looped, etc. Combine "Puddles" to create a more challenging move.
