April 2014 is promising to be a great month for craft events and activities. It’s also the month where there are green fairs, such as the Earth Fair, that showcase environmentally friendly crafts and nature-related artwork. Here are a few of the major arts and crafts shows happening in San Diego for the coming month.

The first weekend of April has several spring-themed arts and crafts shows in various areas of San Diego County. One of those is the San Marcos Spring Festival on April 6th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Via Vera Cruz between Grand Avenue and San Marcos Boulevard. There will be food booths, music, a special pet event as well as arts and crafts booths. Visit their website, for more information.

Also on the same day, there will be a Spring Family Festival in Poway from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Midland Road between Hilleary Place and Poway Road. There will be food, music, and craft booths as well as many activities for children. For more information, call 858-748-0016 or check out the Poway Chamber of Commerce’s page at

The East County Arts and Crafts Fair will take place on April 19th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Heartland Masonic Center at 695 Ballantyne Street in El Cajon. This month’s theme is Easter and Gardening with Easter bunnies and baskets. It will take place on the grassy area near the parking lot.

On April 27th, the largest environmental fair in the western United States will take place in Balboa Park. The 25th annual Earth Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s not hard to miss it’s location as it takes up the entire park. It will not only have Earth-friendly exhibits, food, and a parade, but also Earth-friendly arts and crafts. This is the place to go if you like to find out about environmentally friendly products. See their website at for more details.
