Spring is supposed to be here and when spring arrives, the motorcycle rallies and events start happening. Here’s what’s happening for the month of April in New Jersey.
April 12 in Millville, it’s Bike Night at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The bike night will be held at New Jersey Motorsports Park, 47 Warbird Drive in Millville. The gates open at 5:30 pm. The ride will be on the track and an award will be given for the best bike chosen by peoples choice. The event includes music, and prizes. All makes and models are welcome. April 13, several towns will have the Biker’s Rally for Brain Injured Children, sponsored by the Elks. Participants may begin the ride at any of the seven start locations of Bayonne, Brick, Cranford, Hillsborough, Pompton Lakes, Red Bank or South Amboy. Rides from all locations begin at 12:00 pm. In South Amboy the ride will start at the South Amboy Elks Lodge, 601 Washington Avenue. In Cranford riders will begin at the Cranford Elks Lodge, 951 Lincoln Avenue East. In Bayonne start at the Bayonne Elks Lodge, 364 Broadway. Riders in Hillsborough will start at the Manville Elks Lodge, 1500 Brooks Boulevard. Pompton Lakes participants will start at Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge, 15 Perrin Avenue. In Red Bank the ride leaves from Red Bank Elks Lodge, 40 West Front Street. In Brick the ride begins at Brick Town Elks Lodge, 2491 Hooper Avenue. The ride fee is $20.00 per person. The ride ends in Old Bridge will music, vendors, and more. Proceeds will go to the special needs children of the Sayreville B.I.C. Camp and Camp Robin in Old Bridge.
April 20 gives us two events. First, in Scotch Plains it’s the Biker Blessing and Breakfast. Sponsored by Riders Of The Apocalypse NJ CMA Chapter 919, the ride starts at 1251 Terrill Road in Scotch Plains. Registration is from 9:00 am to10:00 am. The fee is $10.00 for each person. The event includes door prizes, and a biker blessing. All the proceeds will benefit victims of superstorm Sandy. This is a rain or shine event.
In Pennsville, we have the 2nd Annual Spring Ahead for Autism Bike Run, sponsored by Pennsville Moose Lodge 2376. The ride starts at Pennsville Moose Lodge 2376, 117 South Hook Road in Pennsville. Registration begins at 10:00 am and the motorcycles go out at 12:00 pm. The ride fee is $20.00 for the rider and $15.00 for a passenger. The ride ends with food, bike games, entertainment and prizes. The rain date for the ride is April 21st. Proceeds benefit the Salem County Center for Autism.
April 27 out of Helmetta, it’s the 8th Annual Blessing of the Bikes, sponsored by St. George's Anglican Church, and S.G.Ventures,inc. The ride starts at 56 Main Street in Helmetta. Registration is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am and the motorcycles go out at 12:25 pm. The ride fee is $15.00 for the rider, $10.00 for a passenger and passengers under 12 ride for $5.00. The fee includes food at the end of the ride. The ride ends with food vendors and music. Vendor fee is $50.00. Proceeds go to the Church's New Life Food Pantry.
There are three events for April 28. First up, it’s a Poker Run, sponsored by Hamilton Twp., and FMBA Local 84. The poker run starts at Colonial Fire House, 801 Kuser Rd. in Hamilton. Registration is from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the motorcycles go out at 10:00 am. The first 50 to register will receive a gold rimmed patch. The ride ends with food, and music. Next up, it’s the Ride for Pride out of Cherry Hill and sponsored by Eckenhoff Motorcycles, and Boy Scout Troop 54. The ride starts at Eckenhoff Motorcycles, 919 Church Road in Cherry Hill. Registration begins 8:30 am, the first bike goes out at 9:30 am and the last bike goes out by 10:30 am. The ride fee for the rider is $15.00 if pre-registered or $20.00 on the day of the ride. The fee for passengers is $10.00. The ride will go through south New Jersey and end in Camden with battleship tours, a barbeque, raffles and more. All proceeds will benefit the Battleship NJ and Boy Scout Troop 54.
Last but not least for April, we have JAMM5-the Joann Miller Memorial Run in Augusta. The ride starts at Chatterbox Drive-In Restaurant on Route 15 in Augusta. Motorcycles go out at 10:45 am. The ride fee is $15.00 per person. Passengers under 12 ride fee. Pins will be given to the first 50 to register. This police escorted ride will go 60 miles through Warren, Morris and Sussex counties. The event includes a continental breakfast, bike show, and more. Trophies will be awarded. The ride benefits homeless dogs. Rain date for this ride is May 5th.
