April 2014 has somehow become the month for good eating in Volusia and Flagler Counties, Florida. Prepare yourself for an abundance of opportunities to feast your heart out. Enjoy any or all of the following events:
- This Easter, at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, diners can choose from Easter brunch on the Intracoastal Waterway or overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy Easter with a brunch buffet while cruising the Intracoastal Waterway: Hammock’s Sundancer Yacht will board at 9:45 a.m. on April 20, 2014 and cast off at 10 a.m. The brunch buffet includes seasonal fruits, ricotta cheese blitzens with almond cream and mandarin oranges, a fresh seafood display, a chef’s dessert table, live entertainment and much more. - The Atlantic Grille (big winners at Taste of Flagler every year), overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, offers a brunch buffet perfect for the family. Seatings for the buffet are on April 20, 2014 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m. The Easter Sunday celebration will feature an omelet station, a carving station with a clove and orange glazed Smithfield ham, spring vegetables with lemon-dill butter, a chef’s dessert table and much more. The cost is $35.95 for adults and $15 for children (ages 4-12). Reservations are required by calling (386) 447-4610.
- Gather for the 4th Annual Ormond Beach Celtic Festival and Highland Games on April 26-27, 2014. This great event returns to Rockefeller Gardens with stages of music, games, authentic Celtic food, vendors selling everything from claddagh rings to tartan kilts, and more. Admission is $5 for adults with children under 12 admitted free. The festivities begin officially at 5:30 pm on April 25 with a whisky tasting hosted by Ormond MainStreet, Oceanside Country Club and the Central Florida Malt Whisky Cabinet. Tickets are $25 and are available by calling (386) 492-2938 or online (buy soon because this event sells out every year).
