April Fool's day has come and the pranks are in full force today. Fan Share has published some especially curious doozies this April 1. From casting Christian Grey to announcing that One Direction would be performing the "Fifty Shades of Grey" theme song, the erotic film seems to be the target for the day.
Fan Share published an interesting choice for Christian Grey in Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The claim is that the film team "decided to tweak the novel slightly, which is why Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been cast." This screams April Fools' prank along with the Fan Share story that UK pop band One Direction would be singing the theme song for "Fifty Shades of Grey." It is not likely that author E L James would want a boy band associated with an erotic themed film. The connection seems inappropriate as most of One Direction's fans are in the under 18 category.
It appears that the fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" are looked at as an easy target as they patiently wait for casting news. Sheridan Smith tweeted "I'm so excited to tell you that I've been cast as the lead girl in 50 shades of grey opposite Eddie Redmayne, can't wait to start filming!!" The actress didn't let the prank go on too long tweeting, ""I'm crying laughing that some of u actually fell for that!" Smith, 31, is best known in the UK and has not been mentioned in the Ana Steele casting discussions.
So let the April Fools' fun continue! "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans are smart enough to spot a prank and should enjoy the creative jokes floating around. Maybe Ian Somerhalder, Henry Cavill or Matt Bomer will get on board and send a few prank's themselves. For all breaking news follow Fifty Shades Examiner on Facebook and Twitter.
Happy April Fool's everyone!
