Each April, several of Charlotte's local gardens and horticulture departments hold annual plant sales. Don't miss these opportunities to purchase unusual plants and garden products, and to learn more about gardening and sustainability.
April 14: The 7th Annual Cabarras Master Gardener Herb and Plant Festival will be held at the Piedmont Farmers Market at 518 Winecoff School Road in Concord, NC from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. The festival will feature more than 90 vendors with gardening products, hard-to-find plants and more. For more information, see the Piedmont Farmers Market web site.
April 18th - April 21: Wing Haven Plant Sale will take place from Wednesday, April 18th through Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. (Members of Wing Haven can shop on April 17th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.). The sale will feature native plants, antique roses, herbs, perennials and other interesting plants for your garden. Stop by the Wing Haven Nursery to shop for plants and speak with the Wing Haven volunteers about your gardening questions and concerns.
April 20 - 21: The University of North Carolina Botanical Gardens Spring Plant Sale will feature native plants, exotic botanicals, trees, shrubs, perennnials, carnivorous plants, tropical plants and indoor plants. Proceeds benefit the greenhouse and gardens operations. The sale will take place from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.
April 20 - 21: Central Piedmont Community College Plant Sale will tale place at the Cato campus, located at 8120 Grier Road from 9:00 am - 6:00 on Friday, and 9:00 am - 12:00 on Saturday.
April 28: Green Goats and Gardens Festival will take place from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm at 1000 Louis Rose Place in the University Research Park. This annual sustainable living festival features goats from Wells Goats Farm, dozens of exhibitors and local vendors, and a juried art show featuring works by students of the UNCC school of arts and architecture, There will also be a coloring contest for children under 11. The lucky winner of the coloring contest will receive a bicycle.
