Coming to Blu-ray for the very first time is the science fiction cult classic TRON (1982) written and directed by Steven Lisberger. Relive the electrifying thrills with an all-new digital restoration and enhanced high definition sound as you get ready to enter the digital frontier with Jeff Bridges, who plays the brilliant video game maker and computer programmer Kevin Flynn. When he suspects the senior executive Ed Dillinger of his ex-employer ENCOM has stolen his code to climb the ranks, he hacks into ENCOM’s system to find proof with the help of his former co-workers Alan Bradley and Dr. Lora Baines. What happens instead is Flynn gets beamed into ENCOM’s mainframe by the Master Control Program (MCP), the artificial intelligence program that controls ENCOM’s mainframe.

Inside the digital world, the programs resemble their Users and are ruled by MCP and its commander Sark. They have intimidated most of the programs into denouncing the Users who programmed them. All programs who disobey MCP are forced to play in gladiatorial games where they are destroyed if they lose. There, a defiant Flynn meets Tron, Bradley’s security program that monitors the communication between MCP and the outside world. Together with Tron’s friends and Yori, Dr. Baines’ program, they must find a way to destroy MCP and free the programs in this deadly game before Flynn gets trapped in the mainframe forever.

The TRON Phenomenon explores the reasoning, its impact on pop culture, and its resurgence with the release of TRON: Legacy, featuring interviews with the filmmakers and stars from the new movie. In Tronology, director Steven Lisberger and his son, Carl Lisberger, gp on a personal journey to Disney's photo library and share anecdotes and intimate stories as they uncover the original production photos and materials taken during the making of TRON.
