On Saturday, April 5, 2014, the Bunker Hill Train Club will again be hosting their biannual model train show and sale at the Ranson Civic Center in Ranson, West Virginia. The show runs from 10:00am to 3:00pm with a raffle at 1:00pm. The admission is only $4.00 which is much cheaper than the other train shows, and the Bunker Hill Train Club is a locally based organization so your attendance will be supporting the locals. Unlike other train shows, they always have a different display every time you visit.
This show will be featuring model train displays from the Shenandoah and Potomac Valley Garden Railway Club, Barrett Hill Trains, the NVNTRAK T-Trak Division and the Baltimore Area N Trak T Track Division. There will be a kid’s area with Thomas the Tank Engine and running display. Along with the displays you will see tables of model train supplies to include model train sets, accessories, tools, supplies, scenery, plus railroad memorabilia, shirts, hats, books and magazines. There will be clinics with Jeff Grove of the Carolina Craftsman Kits and Joey Ricard of Trackside Scenery.
The Ranson Civic Center is located at 431 W. 2nd Street in Ranson just two blocks from West Virginia Route 115. It is a quarter mile from the center of Charles Town, one mile from U.S. 340, five minutes from Hollywood Casino and Charles Town Race Track, and twenty minutes from Harper’s Ferry National Historic Park. It is a great getaway from the business of the city. Go to www.bunkerhilltrainclub.org for more information on the restoration projects they support and to sign up for their email list.
