Bill Rancic, season one winner of “The Apprentice,” has joined forces with Intuit to launch Small Business Big Game, an initiative that helps support small business owners. As part of the program, Donald Trump’s first “Apprentice” surprised a Chicago storefront with a giant purchase that put the proprietor in tears.
The goal, no pun intended, of Intuit Small Business Big Game, according to Bill Rancic as seen in the attached video, is to “make an impact on small business owners, shine a light on their importance and let them know they are appreciated and important to the economy.” What’s more, the program offers small businesses the opportunity to win a 30-second ad during Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2.
“Operation: Support Small Business with Bill Rancic” startled the co-owners of Elevenzees in Illinois. The mother/son business partners have owned the Chicago-based store for seven years. Best-selling author Bill Rancic requested a basket for a friend with breast cancer to brighten her day, and the team organized one that costs about $150. Bill then ordered 100 more, for the large total of $16, 387.50, which brought the mother to tears. The gifts that were purchased were given to members of Bright Pink, a non-profit organization focused on the risk reduction and early detections of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.
The video that can be seen above is part of program to give small business owners the chance to win their very own 30-second television ad that will air during the third quarter of the Super Bowl on Feb 2. More than 10,000 small businesses have advanced to round two of Intuit's Small Business Big Game program and are looking for votes to help them move forward.
