Porn star Stacie Halas has been hit with some bad news from a three judge commission in California which has ruled she is not entitled to get her teaching job back. In an article today, Jan. 16, 2013, The Hollywood Gossip has reported, Porn Star Teacher Stacie Halas Loses Appeal to Get Job Back. Disgraced porn star teacher Stacie Halas, a.k.a. Tiffany Six, has been deeply saddened by her lost bid to reclaim her job after being fired from teaching at a California middle school.
Halas was hoping to get her job back as a science teacher, and to set a new precedent for people looking to escape an embarrassing personal history. But, a three-judge commission put an abrupt stop to her dreams, saying firmly and unanimously that Stacie Halas should not be teaching in the classroom. Halas' lawyer, Richard Schwab, said, "We were hoping we could show you could overcome your past. I think she's representative of a lot of people." Halas was fired in April from Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard after students and teachers discovered online videos of her in porn.
LaLate has also picked up on this heated story, Stacie Halas Photos as Tiffany Six Prompt Teacher’s Losing Appeal. The Stacie Halas porn photos case as Tiffany Six came to an end with the teacher losing her appeal to get her science teaching job back this week. Her lawyer, Richard Schwab, noted her conduct was lawful, saying, “Lawful conduct in a business which,
while others may disagree with its content, is very vibrant in both Los Angeles as well as the state of California.” However, Judge Julie Cabos-Owen, speaking on behalf of the Commission on Professional Competence, ruled against Halas. Owen said that the conduct did warrant termination, commenting, “Although Halas’ photos career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague.”
This case raises some serious questions about an acceptance of a dangerously rigid legal interpretation of a citizen's right to reform, after what may be an embarrassing personal history, and join a more conservative side of society. Albeit legal, keeping in mind many people consider a career in pornography to be dangerous and not very pleasing to their tastes, it appears sad that now instead of being offered an opportunity to be welcomed into society as a science teacher, Halas may now be pushed back on a path of a career which may leave her life at risk from AIDs. As a science teacher Halas would have been in a great position to explain to her students why from a rational scientific perspective a professional career as a teacher sure beats a career in pornography.
