Ki energy blockages can show up differently in every horse. Each animal is unique and evaluating each horse individually is very fascinating and rewarding. Many experienced natural therapists are able to see the energy imbalance presented in this picture. Your average horse owner or trainer is not capable of recognizing the signs of energy disturbances. Horses have powerful energy fields. Re-establishing their energy flow can have very impressive results. This mare's energy flow was re-established using shiatsu techniques. Shiatsu is a natural hands on therapy that can be applied to any horse to re-establish and maintain their proper energy flow.
Applying shiatsu techniques can give impressive results
Horses that appear thin along their top line due to an energy flow problem can look one hundred or more pounds heavier once their flow is re-established. It is not uncommon for a horse to "fill out" within 15 minutes of having their energy flow re-established. Compare both photos for a before and after example.
The mare in the top picture obviously had a problem. You probably are wondering why she is so thin. Most would assume she suffers from neglect and lack of food. She had plenty to eat. She needed to have her energy flow re-established.
Signs of energy disturbance
The appearance of her hindquarters tells you there is a blockage of energy flow on her bladder meridian. Her thin, weak looking neck also tells you the same. This mare was not lame but did have a weakness in her gait. Her shoulder appears weak also with the same lack of muscling as the hind end and neck. She gives you the impression she is suffering from muscular atrophy or starvation.
Evaluate your horse properly before increasing grain rations
Certainly increasing this mare’s grain is not the answer in this situation. Every horse owner should be aware of the signs of energy blockages. Having a horse like this in a boarding stable could easily lead to other owners with good intentions sneaking her extra grain rations to help fatten her up. Extra grain could have been detrimental to this mare with the possibility of causing laminitis.
On this particular mare her weakness was definitely more one sided. The opposite side, not shown in the picture, appeared closer to normal but still looking a bit thin. The thinness and weakness appearing on one side is a fairly strong clue to evaluate any horse’s energy flow.
