This recipe came out of the Food Network magazine. Each month they take a popular recipe and figure out how to make it just as good as the original. The Food Network kitchens came up with this mock recipe for Applebee's Maple Butter Blondie.
They serve it with vanilla ice cream but I prefer to eat mine served with chocolate ice cream. Either way, the blondie is fabulous!

Preheat oven to 350*.
Line a 9x13 baking dish with no-stick foil.
Pulse 1/2 cup walnuts in food processor until almost fine.

Beat 10 tbsp butter and brown sugar with mixer until fluffy. (about 2 minutes)
Beat in eggs.
Scrape down bowl with spatula.

Add dry ingredients, slowly.
Fold in chocolate and remaining 1/2 cup walnuts.
Spread batter into prepared pan. Bake about 30 minutes, until edges are light brown and spring back when pressed.
Make topping:
Place syrup and butter in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook until it bubbles and thickens, swirling in pan about 6 minutes.
Add cream and cook until the consistency of caramel.
Use foil to lift blondies out of the pan and cut into large bars.
Serve warm topped with ice cream, maple butter sauce and walnuts.
