Now that Amazon has made waves with their Cloud player, Apple is ready to take their bite. After securing the domain name Icloud from Xcerion, a swedish storage service, the way is clear for the computer giant to begin it's Beta testing. Apple has purchased the domain rights for a reported 4.5 million dollars. Mac operating systems will begin applications of the new storage format shortly. It's further speculated that the Icloud will be a major component of Apple's Mobileme service. Cloud service is mostly used for music but Iphone applications are wide open. Wide speculation is that this is a clear response to Amazon's Cloud drive service offered up a few weeks ago. Coupling Icloud to Itunes is thought to be inevitable and a decisive step in Apple's maintaining dominance in the music download arena.
