Is Apple hiding something? On Tuesday morning, the fading tech company issued a press release reminding people to buy the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. Even though the iPhone 5C has been available for the past four days, Apple didn't talk about any preorder figures. Apple has always released preorder figures in its press releases the week a new iPhone is scheduled to be released.
"I hear that the iPhone 5C preorder figures are amazingly low," Los Angeles Industry Analyst Paul Mueller tells this column. "There is a reason why Apple doesn't want you to know those numbers," he continues. Mueller believes that more people are obviously interested in the iPhone 5S, which Apple didn't make available for preorder this year.
The iPhone 5S will arrive in limited quantities on Friday. Many believe that Apple is setting up another publicity stunt to make the 5S look like it's in real demand by showing desperate people camping out at Apple Store locations every night in order to get their new cherished device. This certainly worked for Apple in the past.
