On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal indicated that Apple was creating a Galaxy Note-like device with a screen that will be anywhere from 4.8 to 6 inches. This device is a separate one from the two new iPhones that will be announced on Tuesday.
Apple originally indicated that they weren't interested in such a device. However, the success of Samsung's Galaxy Note has certainly changed the market. Whether the device will come with a stylus or not is still a mystery, although Los Angeles Industry Analyst Paul Mueller believes Apple would be wise to welcome the stylus.
"People want a device they can take handwritten notes with. That is why the Galaxy Note is such a success. The stylus is not an outdated device, despite what some people might think," Mueller says. He expects Apple to officially release the device sometime during the Spring.
Apple is no doubt feeling the pressure since the Galaxy Note 3 was announced last week and pre-orders are already sky high. The Galaxy Note 3 will arrive on U.S. shores in early October.
