Apple's new iPads for 2013 are expected during a live event held by the company on Tuesday, Oct. 22. With the release of the updated iPad Mini and full-size iPad models, consumers could have their hands on them in time for the upcoming Black Friday holiday shopping season.
The NY Post reported on Oct. 22 that Apple's event would be held in San Francisco on Tuesday, and it was fully expected that new iPads would be among the gadgets unveiled. There had been sneak peek previews of the new tablets in leaked online photos in the past weeks. While there's no confirmation of what the devices will look like, the sites that showed preview photos had also revealed iPhone previews before the new models arrived.
The expectations for new iPad models would be that they will be thinner and lighter tablets than the previous versions. Also, the full-sized iPad should be designed similar to the mini, with slimmer sides and tighter curves on the back of it. New smart covers are also expected, which will allow for propping up the iPad for easier viewing, while also folding over with a polyurethane shield to protect the display from harm. Don't be surprised to see retina displays either, although the fingerprint sensor feature that is on the iPhone 5C is unconfirmed for the new tablets.
New iPad prices will probably be similar to what they were for previous models. iPad Mini's on the low price scale were selling for $329, while full-sized iPads start at $499. A release date for the new tablets is unknown, but should be on the way as soon as Apple makes the official announcements.
There may also be reveals for the Maverick OS X operating system which will work on Mac computers, along with a new Mac computer. With that in mind, it seems Apple will have plenty of new products in their pipeline just in time for holiday shoppers and Black Friday 2013 sales events.
