Apple needs to rethink a cheaper version of the iPhone

Rumors are flying around of a cheaper iPhone in the works. According to the Boston Herald on Jan. 10, after hearing this rumor it divided tech experts and caused investors to dump shares upon hearing the news.

All around Apple coming out with a cheaper version of the iPhone is just not a good idea in anyones opinion it seems. When Apple customers come to buy an Apple product, they expect the best and don’t want something that implies cheap. According to some rumors the new iPhone could have a less expensive body made of plastic rather than the aluminum shell.

The other question that has Apple customers questioning this new phone is the fact that they technically already sell a cheaper phone - the iPhone 4S or even the iPhone 4 which can usually be picked up for free with a contract. So what exactly would be the purpose of a new cheaper iPhone?

Apple customers expect high quality and will not want to settle for less than best. Maybe this is just a rumor but if it is not then Apple really needs to hop on the internet and read some feedback. It could save them a lot of money and time.
