Apple iTunes Festival Coming to SXSW in Austin

Apple has announced the first iTunes Festival to be held in the U.S. during the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. Among the global superstars expected to appear are Coldplay, Keith Urban, Willie Nelson and Pitbull.

The iTunes Festival will be held March 11-15 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, the home of the popular television music program Austin City Limits. Other top artists on the lineup include Imagine Dragons, Zedd, London Grammar, G.R.L and Mickey Guyton, with more feature acts to be announced at a later date. All five nights of the iTunes Festival will be available for free as a live and on-demand stream via iTunes or via the Airplay official app on Apple mobile devices and Mac or PC desktops.

Since 2007, Apple has hosted free, live shows at the iTunes Festival in London and has featured more than 400 artists in front of more than 430,000 fans and millions more watching online. Tickets to Apple’s iTunes Festival in Austin will be available for free and will be passed out by lottery to SXSW attendees. Details fo the ticket drawing can be found on the SXSW – iTunes page. All winners are able to bring another SXSW-registered person and must pick up tickets in person to avoid ticket scalping. To enter, SXSW attendees must scan their badge holders at the Austin Convention Center.

One of the top tech shows in the nation, the SXSW (South by Southwest) Music Film Interactive festival runs March 7-16. The high profile event will be held at multiple venues across Austin, including the Austin Convention Center, Driskill Ballroom and an impressive number of music clubs.
