Apple's iPhone 6 is supposedly going to be coming with a bigger screen. A new report has leaked yesterday that shows concept images of the newest version of the iOS smart phone and the biggest new feature is the bigger screen.
Whenever a product is on the horizon from the Cupertino company there are all sorts of rumors that flood the Internet. That means that the rumors about the larger screen don't have a whole lot of veracity just yet. That also doesn't mean the rumors aren't true. There has been a lot of talk lately about putting together a bigger screen phone. Rumors about a cheaper model were considered just rumors until the 5C was unveiled earlier this fall.
Jefferies Analyst Peter Misek has gone public with his assertion that Apple will put out the iPhone 6, complete with the 4.8-inch screen in September of 2014. Misek also believes that the company could see huge sales numbers thanks to the number of people who just skipped the most recent refresh.
While sales certainly haven't been hurting in regards to the 5S or 5C, these models haven't been that much different from previous versions. A larger screen could be enough to garner some real attention from the marketplace. Most analysts agree that one of the reasons that Apple has lost market share to Android is because of the number of phones that have bigger screens. Phablets (phone-tablet hybrids) have been a rather large fad over the last couple of years.
The iPhone 6 wouldn't qualify as a Phablet just yet, but it would be a step in that direction.
