Apple iPhone 5C Details
Exciting news for those who don't want just a black or white iPhone. The new model will come in a variety of colors: green, white, blue, red and yellow.
Color cases are going to be coming out "soon" according to Cook so you can see right through to the color of your new phone.
The Apple CEO stated that users would be "blown away" by the new design.
"You are going to be blown away by how rigid and great it feels in your hand."
Apple iPhone 5S Details
As for the much talked about iPhone 5S, it will come in three metal finishes: silver, gold, space gray.
Cook called it the "most forward thinking phone we have ever created."
It features a 64-bit A7 processor with graphics that are two times as fast as the iPhone 5. The very crisp HD graphics were shown off on stage at the Apple event with a demo of a game from Epic Games, Infinity Blade 3.
There is also a new home button on the 5S that works as a fingerprint sensor. Apple calls this TouchID, which uses your fingerprint to unlock your phone.
The iPhone 5S "reads your finger print at a very detailed level."
"Your fingerprint is one of the best passes in the world. It's always with you, and no two are exactly alike."
You can use TouchID to log into your phone and into iTunes.
In addition, Apple has installed a new M7 sensor that can monitor data and if you are running, walking, driving. This is a feature that that will go hand-in-hand with fitness apps, including the Nike+ Move app.
How about that battery life? No improvement on that front. About the same as the iPhone 5, unfortunately.
It is "equal or greater than the iPhone 5 had."
That means approximately 10 hours of 3G talk time, 10 hours of LTE browsing, 10 hours of video.
The camera on the iPhone 5S will have a new sensor, 2.2 aperture and a 15 percent larger active sensor area. Burst photo mode takes 20 photos in 2 seconds.
"Our competitors would just pack more pixels on that... but that's not what we do. We know a secret. We know it's actually bigger pixels that make a better picture."
As far as the screen size, it will remain the same. No bigger, no smaller.
