iPhone 3,1 will come soon. Photo Creative Commons
With 2010 right around the corner, Apple is already field testing the newest version of the iPhone. The newest model, deemed iPhone 3,1 is supposed to be a large upgrade over the previous 3GS version. If all goes to plan this new iPhone can really help Apple’s fight in the smart phone wars against the Droid.
The reports of the new iPhone 3,1 being tested near Apple headquarters in San Francisco is creating a buzz in the smart phone industry. Speculations over what Apple is doing with the iPhone to counter the droid is abundant. There are rumors that a new processor for the iPhone have surfaced which is supposed to make the iPhone 3,1 exponentially faster than the 3G or even the 3GS.
If all goes to plan, the iPhone 3,1 could be ready for deployment in the smart phone wars sometime in the middle months of 2010. This estimation would ironically coincide with the time Apple’s exclusive iPhone contract ends with AT&T. This would free up Apple to release the iPhone on the Verizon and other wireless carriers. Releasing the iPhone on the Verizon network could be a crushing blow to the Droid if it does not gain momentum by then.

This "article" is one of the worst I've read in awhile. You're basically saying "there's a new iPhone coming, and it will be better", except you have no facts. Your entire article is based on "supposed to be a huge upgrade", and rumors of exponential processor speed improvements. I'm used to rumors about Apple products, but this is ridiculous. Why don't I start cnn2.com and put up articles like "Something may happen today." or "People may have died in a car accident possible somewhere." or "Stocks will either decline, rise, or stay the same today. Who knows?". Then I could rake in the ad dollars like you idiots.
Anonymous, if you don't like it don't read it then :)
Firstly, Thanks for the props Chrisso. Appreciate being backed up for once on these forums. It's not a 100% slam dunk the iPhone comes to Verizon, (more like 99.99%) but still some people like AT&T. I have had no problems with it since getting my iPhone. It works fine wherever I am.

I'm sorry, but if this site boasts "quality writers", the above paragraph contains three horribly written sentences.
"Reports... is creating buzz."?
"Speculations over what Apple is doing with the iPhone to counter the droid is abundant" ??
And this gem...
"There are rumors that a new processor for the iPhone have surfaced which is supposed to make the iPhone 3,1..."
Are you familiar with the concept verb-subject agreement?
What a wasted of read time. This article tells me nothing!
Jimbo,
Are you serious? After reading this article the first thing that comes to your mind is the grammatical errors? Dont be such a smart-arse....sorry pedantic.
And before you say, I dont care if theirs errors on this (like that biggy?)
Back to the whol point of this, it is pretty exciting, hopefully the new iphone will look different enough for me to trade in the 3g :o)
Nick
Thanks Nick. As for Jimbo, I'm not the most technically sound writer in the world, nor do I claim to be. I'll never be as good as you or the columns you have...
