The relentless winter keeps coming back with its icy kiss, leaving us breathless, looking for a wisp of warmth. Today's possible 6F high makes it a perfect day for baking this fragrant and delicious, apple crisp.

This simple recipe will be ready to eat in 45 minutes and it is sure to bring a wind of aromas and comfort.

Apple Crisp

Recipe serves 6 people

Apple filling
10-12 medium organic apples, peeled, cored and diced (we like to use Fuji and Granny smith)
The juice of 2 lemons
1 tbsp organic cinnamon
1 tsp organic ground cloves
1 tsp freshly ground nutmeg
1/3 c organic sugar
2 tbsp organic flour
2 oz of organic butter cubed
Toss apples in lemon juice, set aside. Mix all the dry ingredients and add to apples together with butter mix to combine.
Divide mixture into individual oven proof ramekins, or in one large mold, cover apples with crisp topping and place on a sheet pan.
Bake at 375 F for 30-40 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm.

Crisp Topping
1 cup organic AP flour
1 cup organic oats
1/2 c organic brown sugar
1 tsp organic cinnamon
1/2 tsp organic ginger powder
1/4 tsp salt
6 oz diced COLD organic butter
Mix all ingredients with the paddle attachment, or use the food processor until it becomes crumbly - Don't over mix.
