Save money by making your own apple cinnamon bread! Instead of buying one that is filled with preservatives, you can easily make your own. This recipe will make 3-4 loaves. Simply make them all, wrap the extras in press and seal wrap and pop them in the freezer for later!
Apple Cinnamon Bread
- 3 ¾ cups flour
- ½ tbsp salt
- 2 ¼ cups sugar
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- ½ cup butter, cold and cut into pieces
- 2 eggs
- 4 small apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 2 small (4 ounce) snack cups of applesauce
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- Cinnamon sugar
Prepare loaf pans by spraying with cooking spray and coating with cinnamon sugar.
Preheat oven to 350*.
In a large bowl add: flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
Mix together well.
Add 1 cup of mix and butter into food processor and process until blended well.
Add butter mixture back into large bowl with remaining dry mix and mix together well using a whisk.
Add eggs, apples, applesauce, milk and cinnamon to the mix and mix until well combines. If it is too thick, you can always add a dab more milk.
Pour mixture evenly into pans and sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar.
Bake for 1 hour.
