Here is a recipe for apple pie with a crumble topping. Start off with an East Pie Crust recipe and then follow the direction below.
Cinnamon Apple Pie
- 6 apples, peeled and sliced thin
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Crumble Topping
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 to 1 cup brown sugar, not packed
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp margarine, cold
- 1 pat margarine
Preheat oven to 375*.
Into a large bowl add apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon and toss to mix.
Add to pie crust.
In the same bowl, combine ingredients for the crumble topping. Mix together with your hands until fine crumbles have formed.
Sprinkle topping over apples.
Top by tearing a pat of margarine into small pieces.
Cover the edge of crust with foil or a tin pie crust ring.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Remove foil or ring and bake an additional 30-35 minutes.
