Swoon is the go-to mobile dating app for young professionals looking to meet new people quickly and easily. The app, which is available for iPhone and Android phones, is a breeze to use, simplifying the science of connecting with a prospective mate online down to a simple swipe.
In this latest batch of updates, the app’s already polished design gets a few more bells and whistles, all intended to make connecting with people online easier than it’s ever been. For example, Swoon has long had one of the most intuitive user interfaces (UI) of any dating app, now it has the best-looking UI as well. Rebuilt from the ground up, everything from new colors to new logos to a few more surprises you’ll just have to poke around and find for yourself mean that users on both platforms can look forward to an even better Swoon experience.
Sometimes, the excitement of “Swooning” through a seemingly endless carousel of potential matches leaves us a little swipe-happy. One swipe in the wrong direction, and you could send a profile you were genuinely interested in heading for other harbors. It’s happened to every Swoon user at least once, and now there’s a way to fix it – Just shake your phone. A simple shake recalls your last rejected profile, so that they may live to be judged at least another moment.
Additional improvements include an enhanced chat interface, photo carousel added for iOS users and the ability to vote from within a profile, which makes the process noticeably faster. ‘In October, Swoon will debut its first female-only feature: a messaging service that allows women to share a profile via text message with friends. The availability is tied to your listed gender on Facebook.’ (via Mashable.com)
‘Swoon isn't just built for women, it's also being built by women. Many of the top positions, including head of product, head of marketing, head of algorithm (matchmaking) and head of design, are all female. Even the app' sname was voted on by females.
"It's pretty well known in the dating space that if you get lots of women, then you'll get all the guys also," Tseng said.
About half of Swoon's current users are female, but the new updates could bump up that number, according to Messenger. Its average user is 27 years old, a nod toward the company's goal of attracting young professionals instead of college students.’ (via Mashable.com)
One of the key upgrades comes with users finally having the ability to view their profiles exactly as other users might see them. Looking to keep unwanted eyes off of your intimate information? This “see what they see” feature will let you know right away if you’ve left yourself vulnerable.
To celebrate the new, improved version of the app, Swoon produced "Swoon Like No One's Watching" a humorous video take on mobile dating from the female perspective.
