Apollo Nida has entered a guilty plea for conspiracy to commit mail, wire, and bank fraud. The shocking part of it all is Nida's excuse for committing the high level fraud scheme that he and colleagues had carried on for years. According to a Wednesday report by Reality Tea, Nida claims the pressure to keep up with other cast members on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" led to his criminal activities.

Nida is already a felon and his previous crimes included fraud, much like the scheme leading to his most recent guilty plea. He says pressure to keep up with the Leakes' and others in terms of affluence caused him to revert back to a criminal life.

Though the reason he gave for the fraud scheme was pretty bad, Apollo did take responsibility for the crimes. Of course he didn't have much choice, former best friend and co-conspirator Gayla St. Julien outed him with the feds in exchange for her own 5-year sentence. She did even more damage earlier in the month when she released a statement that pointed the finger at Nida again and hinted that though she protected their spouses, they weren't so innocent either.

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" husband Apollo's fraudulent company operated by using stolen identities to receive and cash government checks for unclaimed funds. They also had set up a fake auto dealership in order to obtain fraudulent auto loans. Checks were mailed to a variety of mailboxes located in Northern Georgia. It has been estimated that Nida's crimes affected as many as 50 people and was worth well over $2 million.

Phaedra Parks should definitely be gearing up for the life of a single mom because his crimes could net Nida up to 30 years in prison. He has spent five years behind bars already for previous crimes and this return to prison will likely be longer. Apollo won't go back for sentencing until July.
