Apache Junction Animal Control is overwhelmed with cats and dogs

An urgent posting has been circulated by Friends of Apache Junction Animal Control, a Facebook page dedicated to networking animals at Apache Junction Animal Control, notifying the public that they are overwhelmed with cats and dogs, and desperately need adoptions, foster and rescue for them:

WE NEED HELP!!! The shelter has never been this full! 52 dogs with only 38 inside kennels. Please distribute these pictures to all rescues, friends, family, neighbors and whomever can help us!!! If you've ever considered fostering, please contact your local rescue and tell them you'd like to help AJ by temporarily taking in a homeless pet. Apache Junction Shelter has some of the best looking, best cared for pets around so save a life and ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!!

The Facebook page is not affiliated with the shelter officially. Volunteers photograph the animals twice a week to assist them in getting networked for rescue.

If you are considering adopting a new pet, and live in the East Valley, please take a look at the available cats and dogs at the AJ shelter - you will be saving two lives...the life of the animal you adopt, and the life of the animal that they are able to make room for.

If you would like to foster, they have an offer from Shelby's House of Rescue to take any dog with a foster. Contact Shelby's House of Rescue directly to start the process of being an approved foster.

“Being a hero to someone, even if it is a dog, is a feeling like no other. Though it can be frustrating, it can be the most rewarding thing to give someone a second chance at a happy life.”― Elizabeth Parker
