"Anywhere's Better" is the latest single from Motown-meets-rock-meets-country artist Ty Stone, and in short order, the clip's been met with a warm reception from the viewers of CMT.com.
Although Stone doesn't bill himself as a country artist per se, his soulful, Southern sound has struck a chord that resonates with many of the genre's contemporary fans, and Michigan native Stone couldn't be more pleased.
The video, which features CMT's Sweet Home Alabama star Ashley Ann Vickers, along with cameo appearances by Kid Rock and Uncle Kracker, managed to rack up some 10,000 views in just a few hours of its online-CMT debut and rocketed to the Top 5 most-viewed on the homepage.
This "Anywhere's Better" track also be featured on Stone’s forthcoming album American Style, which was executive produced by Kid Rock. The disc is slated for release this spring.(Kid Rock signed Stone to his Top Dog Records label back in 2005.)
"He's come a long way with his songwriting and his stage presence," Kid Rock has said of Stone. "He's done a lot of different writing with different people and he's really been growing, just 'cause he's dedicated and a hard worker."
Originally from Lincoln Park, Mich., Stone was flipping burgers before being discovered by future labelmate and music star Kid Rock. Stone spent 2011 on the road, and most recently, he closed an opening slot with Kid Rock on his charity club tour in November.
In honor of his forthcoming CD and current single, Stone--who's already known for his distinct vocals in his home region--will embark on a 26-date tour beginning March 1 with headliner Uncle Kracker.
