Rock n' Roll has long been a male-dominated field, with the exceptions of the likes of Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and Ann and Nancy Wilson, to name a few. Enter Las Vegas' own Dangerous Curves, who can show the boys of Vegas a thing or two about how to rock hard.
Formed in 2005 and comprised of singer Carol-Lyn, guitarist Kelly, drummer Sondee, and bassist Nichole, who is occasionally substituted for by "honorary Curve" Andrea, Dangerous Curves have shared the stage with bands like Beggars and Thieves, Marq Torien's version of the BulletBoys, Mini Kiss, and Steel Panther. Playing originals mixed with covers - everything from The Runaways "Cherry Bomb" and Joan Jett's classic "I Love Rock and Roll" to Ozzy's "Crazy Train", these ladies kick ass! It's not easy to sit still during their set, one can't help but dance. (even if they're rhythmically challenged!)
Recently, Nawgahyde had the ladies come to jam a couple of tunes during their "victory party" for winning a Vegas Rocks award, and, really? How could Nawg come back onstage to follow them? Must have been very difficult!
Currently, the next time Dangerous Curves will be playing in Henderson is on Sunday, October 24th at E-strings. But stay tuned to their website at www.thecurvesrock.com for more dates. Can't wait that long?Catch them on their return to Vegas' BikeFest at the Cashman Center on October 2nd from noon to 1:30pm.
