Antoinette Nicole Davis moved six days ago from the Cumberland County Detention Center to Raleigh's North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women for her own safety. The move was slowly leaked to media sources after Antoinette Davis had left the Cumberland County Detention Center. However, the latest Antoinette Davis update should be no surprise.
North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women is located on 1304 Bragg Street in Raleigh, just 2.44 miles from Raleigh's Central Prison where Mario McNeill is being held. If Antoinette Davis had been sent to Raleigh's Correctional Center for Women on State Street she would have only been 2.34 miles from Raleigh's Central Prison. However, both prisons are equipped to keep inmates highly monitored.
Antoinette Davis, 25, was charged with human trafficking, felony child abuse involving prostitution of 5-year-old Shaniya Davis, filing a false police report, and interfering with an investigation resulting in two felony and two misdemeanor charges.
Mario McNeill has been charged with first-degree murder, first-degree rape of a child, and first-degree kidnapping of Shaniya Davis. Mario McNeill faces the death penalty or life without the possibility of parole.
The next court appearance for Antoinette Davis will be held on December 3, 2009. Mario McNeill's next court appearance will be held on December 9, 2009.
North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women
The North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women houses an inmate capacity of 1,300 and has begun occupancy since 1938. Upon point of entry each sentenced felon undergoes a series of evaluations that determines future prison assignments or tasks.
DART, Drug Alcohol Recovery Treatment, is supplied to inmates. Inmates are offered the chance to make dentures for other prisoners through a one year course offered by Durham Technical College. And the options continue. To many this may sound like a walk in the park, but North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women is no walk in the park.
On January 28, 2008 Nicole Bouleris, 29, was found hanging from "her bed", as the document describes, in an "apparent" suicide. Bouleris was serving an eight month sentence for a drug related crime in Durham County.
Years earlier, in other North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women news, 100 inmates were interviewed by more than 40 State Bureau of Investigation Agents resulting in claims that three correctional officers had sexual involvement conflicting the rights of some inmates.
In the last year the North Carolina Correctional Institute for Women has conducted their facility with a watchful eye for suicide flags while offering more protection to the rights of inmates, even when they have taken the rights away from their victims. This includes that of Antoinette Davis.
Antoinette Davis, Shaniya Davis' biological mother, is facing at least 25 years in prison for her connection leading up to the death of Shaniya Davis.
No matter what the punishment, at any distance, those involved will be facing multiple years behind bars. As for 5-year-old Shaniya Davis, she will always be remembered by many.

Just wondering why no reports on Antoinette Davis' court appearance from yesterday...I don't want Shaniya to be forgotten. I am not hearing any additional charges on Antoinette Davis who, IMO should be held just as responsible for Shaniya's murder as Mario McNeil. If she didn't hand her beautiful child over to him, she'd still be alive...Please do not stop reporting on precious Shaniya...
Thank you LindaRose. A recent article surrounding Antoinette Davis' December 3, 2009 court appearance has been released. I plan on giving you all the updates as they come. Again, thank you.
Too bad this lady doesn't just kill herself and save us the trouble.. Better yet.. they should turn her and the man who carried out these crimes out in gen pop in prison and get an eye for an eye.. These people are worthless and shouldn't be allowed to live not a second longer than the moment they were proved guilty.. I will never be able to get this out of my head and the suffering of that dear child.
